Chhote Lal and Kanni have two sons: Pawan and Tilak and a daughter, Renu. Lals father was a shoe maker. Rug weaving was not an art that he inherited. It was something that he learnt by looking around at the weavers who lived in Narhet village. He went to school till 9th grade and wanted to study further, but he never had the chance. Now, Chhote Lal and Kanni Devi are the best artisans of JAIPUR in Rajasthan.

The lifestyle of Chhote Lal`s ancestors who lived in the shacks by the hill side and witnessed the sun rise every day was the source of inspiration for the couple.
