Jabbar began weaving about 8 years ago in his village, Shahabad, located in the Hardoi district of Uttar Pradesh. He wove both of these carpets with the help of his brother, Gaffar Ali. Jabbar enjoys weaving his own designs and hopes to bring more of the designs in his mind on the loom.

About the rug:
Sitting side by side, Jabbar and Gaffar Ali picked from the skeins of wool lying next to their loom. As Jabbar was the older brother, he was calling out directions to Gaffar to create rows of symmetrical hearts. The brothers then began knotting independently to create different, yet complementary motifs.
