The economic foundation of the town of Newbury was the cloth trade. The famous Newbury Coat was the result of a wager as to whether a gentleman's suit could be produced in one day from wool that was sheared from a sheep's back at the beginning of day. Our hand-tufted collection pays tribute to the art of William Morris and the Arts & Crafts design school updated with todays color palette of chocolate, blue and green. This rug has a pile height of .75 inches.
