The rug has a very nice dense weave, but is not at all stiff. In fact, it's really soft underfoot ... almost feels like a knit, though it appears to be quite durable. The color combination is beautiful, but it's a little more muted than I had anticipated. Overall, I'm very pleased with this purchase.
