Comments about Karastan Studio - Carmel Ambler Mink 74700-13104 Area Rug:

I bought this rug in October 2011 for my family room. I love the color, feel and design of the rug, but we've had some issue with the quality. It started 'sprouting' (fibers of the rug poking up) shortly after we got it. I contacted RugStudio about this in March 2012 and they said that sprouting is common in new rugs and advised us to snip the sprouts. However, we had hundreds of sprouts and no matter how many we snipped, more appeared.

In May 2012, the manufacturer agreed to replace the rug because it was defective. Our new rug arrived in mid-June and we've already had a few sprouts. I'm hoping that this is just part of the normal break-in process and doesn't become as problematic as the first rug we had. Only my husband and I live in the house, so it's not getting a lot of foot traffic. We'll give it a couple of months and see how it goes!
