We got this for our living room and put a thick pad under, it feels pretty good for sisal. We placed a rustic old factory cart on it for a coffee table, the two look great together. You really need to invest in a pad for this rug to give it some bounce and comfort. The olive green border color looks great, just as in the picture. I saw where someone ordered a green border but got brown, they probably got the wrong color, ours is olive green. If you have cats with claws you may want to avoid this rug as they will go right after it, our cat is declawed but loves to pretend scratch. This rug is does not have a soft feel on bare feet, walking on it in socks makes it a little better.
