Adapted from a Southwestern trading blanket in Ralph Lauren's private collection, the Taos rug by Ralph Lauren Rugs combines ancient Soumak and Peshawar knotting techniques to create a modern expression of tribal carpets. Colored with vegetable dyes to create striking natural colors, the texture of the Taos rug is heightened by contrasting a raised cut pile motif in a Peshawar weave against a flatweave ground of Soumak hand-knotting.
