From James Tufenkian:
A modern Barbara Barry Shakti Weave rug in blue. Barbara Barry's refreshing and modern Waltz Slate rug is hand-knottted in Himalayan wool with a tease of silk. This whimsical rug was woven in Nepal using our Shaki weave. As if Barbara Barry made a carpet of her inspired scribbles, the Waltz rug inspires you to follow a stream and get lost in your thoughts. This rug is blue with a slight grey undertone and has subtle variations in the color created by the dye process of the wool. The accent color is silky honey and extends to the edge of the rug, dancing through the beige border.

About RugStudio

Rug Studio is the e-commerce division of Oriental Rug Gallery, L.P., a fourth-generation family-owned company based in San Antonio, Texas. For nearly 100 years, our family has built a trusted reputation in rug manufacturing, importing, wholesaling, and retailing - always rooted in quality, value, and service.

Our story began in 1930 with founder Kaloust Aijian, an Armenian Genocide survivor who fled his village of Hadjin and came to America by way of France, arriving through New York Harbor. With deep knowledge of fine rugs and a relentless work ethic, he built a respected business founded on craftsmanship, integrity, and personal service.

Kaloust first operated a rug boutique inside D.H. Holmes in New Orleans before relocating in 1946 to San Antonio, where he established Oriental Rug Gallery inside Joske's downtown store - laying the foundation for decades of growth in Texas.

Today, led by Kaloust's grandchildren and great-grandchildren, we continue that legacy online through Rug Studio, helping customers nationwide find the perfect rug - from handmade heirlooms and traditional Orientals to modern designs for today's interiors.
